NextLabs Announces Enhanced Data Protection Capabilities to Secure Critical Siemens Teamcenter Data with Release 3.0

Increased Security for Siemens PLM Data on the Move

San Mateo, CA – May 8, 2017 – NextLabs, a leading provider of data-centric security software to protect business critical data and applications, announced NextLabs EDRM for Teamcenter 3.0. The new release includes major enhancements to their existing, natively integrated, Teamcenter solution for securing critical PLM information. NextLabs Enterprise Digital Rights Management (EDRM) for Teamcenter provides protection automatically for all engineering file types, including 3D CAD drawings, when they leave the application and are shared throughout the partner and supplier ecosystem.

The new release includes advanced protection capabilities for Teamcenter information with increased access and usage controls. These include additional capabilities for batch protection for enterprise scalability, automatic metadata sync for files at check in, and the ability to apply relationship filters to protect datasets – increasing the level of fine-grained authorization available. Enhancements were also made to the user enrollment utility to combine attributes from Teamcenter and other information systems (LDAP/AD) for the authorization policy decision.

A key enhancement is the integration with Active Workspace, which is the latest interface for intuitive product lifecycle management.  NextLabs EDRM for Teamcenter 3.0 integrates advanced EDRM capabilities with Siemens Active Workspace, enabling users to create rights-protected versions of any file in Teamcenter from the Active Workspace interface. Intuitive navigation also makes it easy to navigate through relevant PLM information and access protected documents quickly. Some of the new capabilities include:

  • One-step commands to trigger document protection
  • Ability to protect any type of document, including CAD file or CAD assembly
  • Apply filters to specific datasets
  • Ability to download a protected file and open in the local application if authorized

NextLabs is committed to providing the most advanced data-centric security solutions for Siemens PLM to ensure product intellectual property (IP) remains protected throughout the manufacturing process and beyond. “Product innovation includes some of the most valued information that organizations own and the increase in data theft has warranted a stronger data defense,” said Mr. Lim, CEO and founder of NextLabs. “To stay competitive, companies need to be able to share sensitive product and manufacturing data across a global and multi-level supply chain and partner network; however they need persistent protection of this data throughout the data lifecycle. As partners, we work together to stay ahead of security trends and provide the most advanced solutions for our customers.”
